Destination Panama Is led by an industry veteran, a DMC professional with 30+ plus years as a senior level executive and business owner. Darryl has a solution oriented demeaner while his strong administrative background and proactive management style, coupled with years of hands-on experience, offers his clients and team members a solid operational base for quality service and seamless project execution.
Originally from Canada, Darryl graduated with a diploma in Hospitality and Tourism from Centennial College. His tourism background started from his early days at a Toronto based DMC as a Tour Guide. He quickly worked his way up to Program Planner and then Director of Operations. He started his career in Western Canada as General Manager of a prominent Catering Company, later accepting a position as Director of Operations for an International DMC/Event Production Agency based in Vancouver.
In 2001, he opened his own DMC/Event company – Max West. The Company delivered over 2000 Meetings, Incentives, and Business Events throughout Western Canada before selling his majority ownership and divesting completely in 2014.
For 5 years, Darryl had been primarily living and working in Central America and the Caribbean providing meeting planning and logistic service contracts for a handful of Fortune 500 Companies. When one of those companies offered to financially back a business opportunity, the result is Destination Panama.
When Darryl has down time, he is either in the backyard crafting his BBQ skills or you can find him in the dog park playing with his 5 Jack Russell Terriers.
Most would describe Juan as a steadfast, determined,
can-do, go-getter, a risk taker armed with a fearless never quit attitude.
After initially studying engineering at college, he graduated an attorney at law starting his career as a practicing corporate lawyer. He transitioned into Hospitality and Tourism deciding that bringing an idea to life while bringing joy to the hearts of all those he can touch along the way as the underlying reason that he was drawn to the event industry.
Now with 20 years as an executive in the air, marine, ground transport and hospitality fields under his belt, he brings a wealth of logistical, analytical and problem-solving skills to each and every project he’s involved with. His unbridled enthusiasm and boundless energy fuel his dedication to excellence. Juan is the backbone of operations for Destination Panama.
Whether it is a corporate incentive program, association meeting, city-wide conference, or public event, Juan has the management tools and tactical know-how to get the job done.
When Juan is not working, he is keeping an eye on what’s most important to him, a code his father taught him; He loves being a dad and spending plenty of quality time with his family on adventures that both educate and build the memories that will last a lifetime.
